Description | The presented text is focused on the issue of translating demontrative pronouns from Ukrainian and Russian into Czech. Due to the use of two demonstrative expressions in both Ukrainian and Russian and the considerable overuse of this type of pronoun in the Czech language (in addition to the creation of many different derivatives), we encounter the problem of correct translation. The aim of the article is to present the question of the translation of demonstrative pronouns in the examined Slavic languages, to map the linguistic phenomena helping the correct translation of the Ukrainian or Russian source text into Czech, and present proposals for possible procedures to avoid incorrect translation. |
