| Description | This case study involves a 66-year-old male with adenocarcinoma in the hypogastric area, extending into nearby structures, who underwent a multiorgan resection at Hospital Třebíč. The patient presented with abdominal pain, decreased appetite, and significant weight loss, and was found to have a tumor in the right hypogastrium. Surgical intervention revealed a sigmoid tumor penetrating the abdominal wall and terminal ileum, necessitating extensive resection, achieving an R0 resection, no liver metastasis detected. The discussion highlights that adenocarcinoma commonly affects the distal sigmoid colon and rectum, often requiring multivisceral resection for complete removal, with considerations for protective ileostomy in high-risk scenarios. |
