Description The ninth volume, following on from the volumes published in 1988, 1990, 1992, 1995, 1997, 2000, 2004 and 2010, contains treatments of 7 families, the most comprehensive of which are Cyperaceae and Poaceae. In particular, the Poaceae family is one of the most important families in the world economically and economically, and cereals, especially representatives of the genera Avena, Hordeum, Panicum, Secale, Triticum or Zea, are among the most important food resources of mankind. The latest volume of Florence includes a taxonomic and chorological treatment with karyological, ecological and pricing characteristics of 397 numbered species (and a number of unnumbered species listed in the Notes) belonging to 91 genera of 7 monocotyledonous families. The text is supplemented by 120 full-page pictorial plates. The main coordinator of the nine-volume Florence of the Czech Republic was the Botanical Institute of the CAS in cooperation with a number of other important botanical institutions.
