Description | The Encyclopedia of Czech Legal History is a unique project of a group of legal historians concentrated in The European Society for History of Law, founded in 2009 in Brno. In cooperation with leading legal history departments in the Czech Republic and Slovakia and a number of historical departments, scientific institutes, archives, museums, as well as practitioners, a collective of several hundred authors from the Czech Republic and Slovakia, as well as from Austria, Hungary, Poland, Germany and other European countries has been created. The result of their work over several years is a multi-volume encyclopaedia summarising all the important findings from the history of the state and law in the Czech Republic. The Encyclopaedia of Czech Legal History is structured into several parts. In addition to the introductory introductory studies explaining the origin and nature of law, the relationship between the state and law, the periodization of the development of the state and law in the territory of the present-day Czech Republic and the development of legal science, the main part of the encyclopedia is a complex containing subject entries. A separate part of the encyclopaedia consists of several hundred biographies of leading Czech and Czechoslovak lawyers. The encyclopaedia is supplemented by appendices and a detailed overview of legal history in dates. Individual entries are supplemented by a detailed bibliography and references, linked to other entries. |
