Description The conference paper plans to deal with ongoing trends in media sector. New media are constantly gaining popularity and are getting preferred to the traditional media platforms (television and radio). The number of households, which own radio or television is declining, whereas ownership of smartphones, computers and access to the internet is growing. The most common way for funding of public service media is through television/radio licence based on ownership of radio or television. Therefore, the current trend poses a possible threat for sustainability of funding of public service media. The author will also examine the approaches to webstreaming and access to on-line media platforms of public service media. The paper will also contain an analysis of new possible models of funding and adaptation of public service media to the new trends in media sector especially with regards to the expansion of new media.
