Description In the current international political situation, some states accuse each other of committing crimes of aggression, genocide and crimes against humanity, among others. The prohibitions of these crimes fall under the peremptory norms of general international law, from which it is not permissible to deviate. If a State nevertheless violates a peremptory norm, its status is unaffected. What is more important is the response of the entire international community of States. The latter currently confirms the importance and status of the peremptory norms.
