Citation
Description In 1843, Johann Gregor Mendel, the world-renowned founder of genetics, entered the Augustinian monastery in Staro Brno. Mendel's siblings included several researchers whose interest was in the fields of philosophy and art. They were mainly writers František Tomáš Bratránek and František Matouš Klácel, choirmaster and conductor Pavel Křížkovský, journalist Tomáš Eduard Šilinger and others. Their ideological and artistic legacy is represented by the exhibition Augustinians of Brno in the 19th century: reflections on beauty and art.
