| Description | The chapter briefly discusses the Hussite religious and political programme, which was promulgated in 1421 as the so-called Four Articles of Prague. After disputes with the catholic representatives during the Council of Basel in 1433, the Hussites managed to negotiate a compromise version of them and at the Council of Jihlava in 1436 the so-called Basel Compactata was promulgated as a provincial law. This led to a formal reconciliation between the Hussites and the Roman Church. The explanatory part is followed by textual excerpts. |
