Description Visualizations in video games are one of the key elements of the user interface between the game and the players. They offer players important information about the status of the game, their surroundings, and their own character(s). Since there exist different ways in which in-game data can be visualized, it can be helpful for game designers, developers, and researchers to have an overview in order to show different ways in which in-game visualizations can be used for game interfaces. In this paper, we will investigate how visualizations that are used as interface elements can be categorized, in order to propose an initial version of a taxonomy for in-game user interface visualizations.
