| Description | The final section of the book about architect Jan Santini Aichel offers a detailed account of the pilgrimage church of St John of Nepomuk on Zelená hora by Žďár. This is a masterpeiece in which, as in sadly unexpected early finale, all the distinctive motifs of Santini´s architecture („Baroque Gothic“, stereotomic ilusions, skiagraphy of shadows, the theatrical arrangenbet of space and the symbolic form) are integrated into a unique and timeless whole. It concludes with reflections on the nature of the aerchitecturel tasks involved there and how they affected the resulting creative design. |
