Description | The intervention in this project is the interaction of the social humanoid robot Pepper with human actors at an older age. The intervention will be the result of previous and ongoing interdisciplinary team consultations. It will reflect agreement on a common project design and incremental development in the solution. The robot will be used primarily for informational, entertainment and socialization functions in a group setting, possibly one-on-one. The intervention does not primarily facilitate interpersonal interaction, but is the active subject of it. The first part of the intervention planned for 2019 was implemented in two ways: the first was two group meetings of seniors with the robot, following a focal discussion group. In this intervention, the robot was introduced to the focus group and the first data resulting from the exposure was collected through participant observation. Subsequently, a plan for regular encounters with the robot was developed for the project and presented to the target group in the form of a "Robotics Course I." The meetings (intervention) pursued and fulfilled three key objectives: 1) increasing the technological skills of the target population 2) adapting technology for the target user group. In a reciprocal way, classes for the elderly were taught and data for software adaptation were collected. 3) In parallel, sociological data collection and evaluation were also conducted. At the same time, the intervention and its relationalisation contributed to most of the objectives set by the application partner. (V9) |
