Description | This contribution addresses the topic of intergenerational solidarity in the context of social work. It highlights demographic changes, such as population aging and declining birth rates, which increase the need for intergenerational collaboration, particularly in elder care. The author explores different levels of solidarity—family, community, and societal—and emphasizes the role of social work in supporting family ties, community cohesion, and advocacy in public policy. The paper also focuses on the challenges faced by the so-called sandwich generation and the need for systemic support for informal caregivers. Strategic approaches to strengthening intergenerational solidarity are proposed, including educational programs, community activities, and the integration of health and social services. |
