Description | The article examines frontier theory in studies focusing on medieval Russia up until the late 15th century. These studies were published in the second half of the 20th century and the early 21st century. The author analyses the regions of Ancient Rus’ that modern historiography presents as frontiers and explores the reasons for their characterization as such.
