Description | The article is a written form of a paper presented at the XVIth Conference on Folk Kutlure in Haná, which took place on 9th November 2023. The paper focuses the author's long-term research, which deals with forced inner migrations in the Drahan Highlands due to the expansion of the Vyškov military training ground. Between 1941 and 1945, 33 villages from the former political districts of Vyškov, Prostějov and Blansko (then Boskovice) were displaced. More than 18,500 inhabitants were forcibly resettlemented. These displacements had a major impact on the formation of the national and cultural identity of the inhabitants of the Drahanská vrchovina and Mala Haná, because as a result of these displacements, subsequent settlement actions took place after 1945 in the so-called former German-language enclaves in the Vyškov and Konice regions, when the inhabitants of the damaged so-called Vyškov shooting range were preferentially moved to the homesteads of the Germans. The article consists of several chapters that deal with partial research questions in an overview form.
