Description This study was created as part of specific research at the Department of Primary Pedagogy of the Faculty of Pedagogy of Masaryk University and as a follow-up to a previous study, the aim of which was to find out how parents within the family environment support the development of their children's preliteracy. The results raised questions related to the socioeconomic status of bilingual education in the family and the use of information about the child when working in a kindergarten, which is the focus of the current study. The aim of the research is to find out how the development of reading preliteracy of a bilingual child is supported in the family and kindergarten. The results show strong family support for reading literacy and bilingual education. Kindergarten also promotes pre-literacy, but focuses less systematically on the specific needs of the bilingual child.
