Description | Research on media avoidance focuses primarily on complete news avoidance , while focusing only to a limited extent on the fact that media avoidance is a selective practice: people typically and most often avoid only some media outlets, while not others. Selective news avoidance is a critical issue in times of crisis, when understanding which people avoid which news channels and why plays a key role in the dissemination of information about the ongoing crisis. The presented analysis therefore examines how the predictors of avoidance differ for the three most important types of Czech news media: public service media, commercial television, and tabloid newspapers. |
