| Description | Tea at Mephisto's 2 was the second annual international multidisciplinary conference focused on the study of occultism and alternative religious movements. The conference took place from October 25–28, 2024, at the Mahen Memorial in Brno, under the auspices of the Jiří Mahen Library. The program featured 17 lectures divided into four thematic sessions, one of which was an international session. A total of 91 participants from six different countries attended the conference in person. Nine universities and four research institutions were represented. The live stream of the conference on YouTube and Facebook garnered a combined viewership of 2093 people over the three days. The conference’s accompanying program included a concert, a guided city tour, demonstrations of hypnosis, and presentations on the fabrication of supernatural phenomena. There were also demonstrations of rituals used by occultists, mystical dances, and two exhibitions. The first exhibition showcased the history of tarot cards, while the second presented works by contemporary female artists inspired by occult themes. |
