| Description | Medicines of natural origin are the longest used medicines. It is far from just herbal teas. Natural medicines represent a very wide group of medicines, the origin of which can be from plants, animals, microorganisms, but also from inanimate nature. With advancing knowledge and possibilities, we are able to extract or isolate individual substances. Some isolated substances can be used for the treatment itself, other isolates serve as a template for the preparation and synthesis of analogues with higher efficiency or safety. At Science Talk, you will learn about well-known and lesser-known medicines of natural origin, how they are used and possible risks related to their use. |
