Description | The Musica Arte Povera project combines visual art and experimental music that is not constrained by traditional musical structures. The authors of the exhibited "musical" objects used unusual materials to construct the instruments, and even less usual ways of processing them. Their aim was to make objects using simple pieces of found or discovered objects to make sounds that are not traditionally considered "music". In addition to physical material experiments, we included experiments with digital sound processing. The collective musical production presented at the opening should inspire all participants to an open art-music production that does not have tentative scenarios in advance. In today's era of the dominance of digital devices (smartphones, computers), the project represents a return to manual play with simple, often found materials of all kinds (wood, stones, plastics, containers, sand, clay, everyday objects and technical tools). Musica Arte Povera draws on artistic movements associated with minimalism; the project also includes "collectible musical performances" (vocal improvisations, field recordings, etc.). Institutions participating in the project: KVV PdF MU, Labyrinth – laboratorní škola, SPGŠ – Školský komplex Brno, ZUŠ Jílka; Author: Hana Stehlíková Babyrádová; Co-authors: Aneta Šilhánková, Šimon Kříž, Marta Křížová, Lenka Burešová, Kristýna Dvořáková, Jana Nedomová, students of KVV PdF MU, SPGŠ and children |
