| Description | This article presents the results of ongoing iconographic and archaeometric analyses of chamber stoves from south-eastern Moravia: Buchlov Castle and the towns of Strážnice and Veselí nad Moravou, following the results published in last year‘s edition of Archeologia historica. The aim of the analyses was to determine the material composition and thus possible material matches of analogical tiles from different locations. The information obtained in this way can help map regional and supra-regional links, contribute to the locating of production centers from the period between the late 15th and the early 16th century and identify mutual contacts during the production process. The results so far show asignificant concentration of the production of chamber stoves in the region of south-eastern Moravia and simultaneous effects of a large number of (non-specialized) pottery workshops which supplied local markets at approximately the same time. Analogical finds of relief tiles from different locations in the area are thus most likely the products of individual local workshops. |
