Description If somebody is worried about coercion in population policies, they should realize that coercion is much more prevalent globally in pronatalist policies to increase population than it is in policies of the family planning movement to decrease fertility and population size. This paper analyses positions and acts of the 'pro-life' movement and argues that it is not, in fact, pro-life, but very often anti-life, both directly and in its indirect consequences. It points out further negative characteristics of this movement and argues that a more pregnant name would be the ‘anti-choice’ movement.
