Description | The article discusses the discovery of the critically endangered species Pseudognaphalium luteoalbum at a new locality in the Hostýnské vrchy Mts, where it was last recorded more than 100 years ago. Its population is very numerous, consisting of several hundred individuals. The species occurs in a sparse spruce plantation. The vegetation where Pseudognaphalium luteoalbum grows was documented through a phytocoenological relevé, and its species composition is commented on. Activities related to timber harvesting appear to be an important factor for the species survival in forested areas. For Pseudognaphalium luteoalbum as a winter- -annual plant, the mild winters of recent years are likely advantageous, as it can more easily survive them. |
