Citation
Description Tomasz Nodzynski was invitated to look together with the colleagues from University of Silesia, Faculty of Natural Sciences on PIN auxin carrier structure. The event title was “Zooming on PIN structure through a membrane topology lens”. Tomasz Nodzynski presented the work done at CEITEC concerning the IDP nature of PIN1 hydrophilic loop and the ER PIN topology. This time however he also veered towards part of results that motivated him to seek the unique expertise of Dr Ewa Mazur in vasculature regeneration. He discussed with researchers at the institute. Among them, he spoke with Dr Barbara Wójcikowska about barely and stress adaptation at the cellular level. Additionally, Tomasz Nodzynski discussed species alignments with Dr Damian Gruszka, focusing on their potential intrusiveness in studying PIN membrane topology. With Dr Teresa Nowak, he explored applying botanical expertise to explore local and historically used wild varieties of edible plants. Furthermore, he conversed with Professor Ewa Kurczyńska about the interest in auxin among Polish research groups. In summary, the meeting “Zooming on PIN structure through a membrane topology lens” was very successful. The joint meeting allowed us to exchange insights and experiences during numerous discussions. Although that was not the main topic of the talk, it was also an occasion to already pre-advertise the Lateral Root mutants database – LAVA – that we are preparing for publication.
