Description Brief review of research of aquatic invertebrates in southern Moravia has been outlined. The prodrome Aquatic invertebrates of the Palava Biosphere Reserve of UNESCO has been commented in more detail. It was elaborated by 29 experts and includes 35 taxonomic groups with 1553 recorded species, ie. nearly 36% species known to live within the teritory of the Czech Republic. Rare and endagered species in each of groups have been given particular attention.
