Description | The objective of our work has been to study the relationship betwween the occurance of apoptosis and blockage of the cell cycle in two human leucemic cell lines HL60 and U937 influenced by various effects (phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate, retinoic acid, dimethylsulfoxide, gamma rays and nutrition depletion. The following metods were used: estimation of apoptotic cell morphology, DNA fragmentation test and flow cytometric analysis. The appearence of apoptotic cell morphology and DNA fragmentation were not often detected after treatment of both cell lines with the same agent. This fact correlated with the specific distorbing (blockage) of the cell cycle. |
