| Description | As an introduction, an overview of main XML-related standards is provided: namespaces, XML schema languages, transformations specification languages, and style languages. Also, the XML infrastructure security stanards are discussed. The core part of the contribution is devoted to the problems of building component systems based on XML. Both theoretical and practical problems of this approach are discussed. |
