Description The analytical techniques most frequently applied for the determination of species involve a chromatographic system (gas-, liquid- or supercritical fluid chromatography) or capillary electrophoresis in combination with element selective detection. The detection can be based on atomic absorption, atomic fluorescence, microwave-induced plasma- (MIP) and inductively coupled plasma (ICP) optical emission spectrometry (OES) or inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS).
