Description | Hydrothermal mineralization with sphalerite, galena, chalcopyrite, pyrite and marcasite occurs in massive reef carbonates of early Carboniferous age, beneath the Upper Carboniferous coal-bearing sediments of the Upper Silesian Basin. During precipitation of the successive mineral generations, temperature, salinity and composition of the mineralizing fluids changed. The physico-chemical characteristics of mineral precipitation indicate a comparable origin to the Mississippi Valley type deposits in Poland. |
