Description The aim of the study was to ascertain whether a high bromide intake in the lactating rats could influence iodide concentration in the mammary glands and in this way affect iodide transfer to the sucklings. High bromide levels in the organism of lactating dams caused a decrease in iodide concentration in their mammary glands, and also an increase in iodide excretion through the kidneys.
