| Description | In some cases the symptoms from shunt malfunction during pregnancy can be so severe and may occure so early that not only the mother but also the baby in threatened. Both conservative treatment and surgical methods have to be applied to overcome the time untill the delivery carries an acceptable risk for the child. |
