Description | In 1998 a 1999, the Forest Enterprise Židlochovice illegally afforested more than 20 ha alluvial meadows near the confluence of the Morava and Dyje rivers south of Břeclav and Lanžhot (southeastern Czech Republic). In 2001, the District Administration Břeclav legalised these activities. The authors call for public attention to these events and urge the forest enterprise (1) to stop further affrestations and (2) to discuss the future management of meadows with biologists and conservationists. |
