Description The effect of La3+,Eu3+,Pr3+,Gd3+ and Nd3+ chlorides on the cleavage of plasmid pBR322 and high-molecular weight calf thymus DNA was reported. Cleavage was followed spectrophotometrically and using agarose gel electrophoresis. In the case of plasmid pBR322 DNA the formation of linear and nicked plasmid forms was investigated depending on reaction conditions.
