Description | The whole-body biological half-lives of bromine in the young and in lactating dams were determined with the aid of radionuclide 82Br. The determined values of the half-lives of 82Br excretion through the kidneys into the urine fluctuated within very broad limits, from about 44 h in the dams to 269 h in the young of the age of 12 days. We suggest that these large differences can be explained by the effort of the rat's organism to preserve the constancy of the internal milieu. |
