Description | Population of endangered lycaenid Maculinea alcon is reported from the foothills of the Nízký Jeseník Mountains (Olomouc district), where it inhabits an intermittently wet meadow disturbed by artillery shelling in the Libavá military training area. It is the first confirmed record of the species from the territory of Central and Northern Moravia after at least 90 years. |
