Description A total of 170 taxa (eight new species) have been identified from sediments filling the paleocanyon of Saubrigues. The succesion of fish biota is characterised by a major break at Chattian-Aqiutanian boundary. A gradual appearance of the typical Miocene fauna is observed from Early Burdigalian till Langhian.
