Description | The data show that in the Czech Republic, there is a numerous group of people marginalized in the labour market (people with low human capital). Most respondents had been unemployed repeatedly in our panel study. For a third of them, the total of their individual unemployment spells exceeded one year (for 15% of them it exceeded 2 years). About 30% of the respondents households - to which the question was applicable (that is the respondents had a partner and the job they had lost had not been their first one) - had to cope with double unemployment. A half of the respondents had been unemployed three or oven more times. Yet, these people do not feel too stigmatised for being unemployed. Even after having experienced repeated losses of employment they do not seem much concerned about the difficulties in searching for a new job and their job-search strategies are not too active. |
