| Description | The first carotid endarectomy in Czechoslovakia was carried out in the authors workplace in 1963. It is the first department in the Czech Republic perforing carotid endarterctomies under cervical epidural anesthesia (1994, February). Now according to the autors experience, the use of the optimized algorithm anables reducton of the use of the shunt from 34-35% (in general anesthesia) to 7-8% (in local anestesia). |
