• Description: Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis,L.) ecotypes from the USA and Europe and from varieties Slezanka, Bohemie, Moravanka and Harmonie developed at the Plant Breeding Station Hladké Životice were analysed by native PAGE electrophoresis for banding patterns of esterase isozymes (EC 3.1.1.1.). A variety of preparation methods (employing different types of extract buffers, electrophoresis, staining, gel processing and evaluation) was used to select the best procedure for ecotype and variety identification using EST isozymes.
