Description The most important short term prognosis factor after giant liver resections is blood loss. Its lowering can be achieved besides the prefect surgical technique and some new techical methods of dissecting the liver tissue including water-jet by total vascular liver exclusion or by hypovolemic anaesthesy. Low CVP can be reached with oral liquids restriction in preoperative period, with haemodilution at the beginning of the surgery, with combination with spinal anaesthesy and pharmacologically. Ther results with all the techniques are described and compared to that before their general usage.
