Description In insufficiently ventilated environments, sanitation plasters develop moulds, and also bacteria on their inner surface, which can easily survive application of high doses of salts and produce organic acids and amino acids into the plaster. Guanidin, which is left as a residue after died microorganisms, obviously contributes to faster penetration of salts through the plaster in a way so far unknown. Thus, it affects reduction of the durability of the plasters.
