Description This publication gives an overview of the results of the research project called Ascertainment of conditions, demands, and prospects of psychological assessment in the Czech Republic. The research was conducted in two phases. In the first phase of the research, a database of assessment methods and a database of psychologists working in the CR (of 2026 unique entries) were assembled. Based on this database, a sample of 316 psychologists (221 females, 95 males; 138 working in clinical psychology, 110 in counselling psychology, 46 in work and organizational psychology, and 32 working as forensic and army psychologists) was drawn. A questionnaire was administred to these respondents by interviewers. Due to the exploratory nature of the survey, mainly descriptive results are presented. The enviroment of the Czech psychological assessment is depicted - where and in which types of institutions the psychologists work, who are their clients, who asks for the examination of the clients, and what psychological phenomena or functions and what diagnoses are frequently assessed. The focus of the publication is in the compedium of methods used by the Czech psychologists, together with the evaluation of the methods according to five criterions: standardization, manual, tools, norms, and publisher's support. Furthermore, an overview of the methods being lacked for, or alternatively the list of disapproved or negatively rated methods is provided. All analyses were conducted for the whole sample as well as for the subsamples of clinical, counselling, organizational and forensic/army psychologists. The publications demonstrates the situation of the Czech psychological assessment which has not been explored to such extent so far.
