Description | Miocene sediments were studied based on the examination of drill logs, drill cores and seismic reflection profiles from the southern part of the Carpathian Foredeep in Moravia. Thirteen well log facies were recognized in the southern part of the Carpathian Foredeep based on the evaluation of well log measurements, the lithological study of drill cores, and seismic profiles. The selected well log facies are used for characterising the basin structure during its development. Maps of the thicknesses of well log facies were produced that allow to illustrate five stages of basin development. Individual stages also reflect controling factors of basin and depositional space formation. |
