Description | This paper deals with the semantic roles in verb valency frames. It examines ontologies, particularly Top Ontology from the EuroWordnet 1,2 project in relation to the tagging of semantic roles of verb complements. We are aiming at a consistent system of semantic role tags that would form a base for lexico-semantic constraints integrated into a natural language parser. A new notation that exploits semantic roles (deep cases) based on the EuroWordNet Top Ontology and the set of the Base Concepts is also presented as well as preliminary statistical results of our research effort. |
