Description | Two fossiliferous carstic fissures have recently been discovered in Mokrá-Quarry containing abundant Neogene fauna of terrestrial vertebrates: Chelotriton cf. paradoxus, Pelobates sp., Emydidae gen et sp. indet. (probably Chrysemys sp.), Testudinidae gen et sp. indet. (probably Testudo sp.), unspecified Emydidae or Testudinidae, cf. Ophisaurus sp., Varanus sp., Lacerta sp. (small form), Boidae gen et sp. indet. (large form), Bavarioboa cf. hermi, Coluber sp. 1, Coluber sp. 2, Colubrinae gen. et sp. indet., Natrix sp., Elapidae gen. et sp. indet., Vipera sp. 1 (Oriental vipers group), Vipera sp. 2 (European vipers group), Mustelidae gen et. sp. indet., Felidae gen. et sp. indet., Palaeochoreus cf. aurelianensis, Dorcatherium cf. guntianum, Dorcatherium sp., Arvicolidae gen. et sp. indet., ? Leporidae gen. et sp. indet. Bavarioboa cf. hermi is a typical member of Early Miocene snake assemblages within the area of Central Europe |
