Keywords biofilm - sensitivity to antibiotics
Description The purpose of the study was to propose a method of determining minimum biofilm inhibitory concentration (MBIC) and minimum biofilm eradication concentration (MBEC) of antibiotics and to compare these values with routinelly determined minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values of antibiotics. MBIC and MBREC values were many times higher than MIC values. It means that the currently used concentrations of antibiotics cannot be used in monotherapy for an efficatious eradication of a biofilm.
