Description | Still unfavourable therapeutic results achievable in the majority of haematooncological diseases lead to intensive searching and testing of new approaches. Successful choice of treatment strategy assumes correct and unbiased evaluation of specific input and follow-up data. These efforts also led to the establishment of a clinical registry for acute leukaemia (AL) patients in Czech Republic - project ALERT. This project is guaranteed by the Czech Haematology Association and is equipped with progressive software tools. To date, full-scaled clinical records from 1415 patients have been coded. Longitudinal data evaluation confirmed importance of main prognostic factors and of the applied medical strategy as well. Applied data model can serve as example of minimum patient-specific record, including initial characteristic, risk stratification and well defined distinct therapeutic episodes. |
