Description | Backround: Insertion of Ventilation Tubes (VT) by the cleft palate children is the common used therapeutical method. The question can be: in which time ? how is the correlation between tympanometry investigation and prognosis middle ear pathology. Objective: In co-operation paediatric ORL Department and plastic surgery Department of Masaryk University in Brno were followed cleft palate children. Results: In the year 2001 we investigated together 62 patients with clef palate diseases and tympanometry, microotoscopy and audiometry was done. By 89% of patients we found tympanometry type B, in 8% type C2 and 3% type C1 and A. By most of them is insertion of ventilation tubes indicated. Conclusions: We want follow this group of patient and compare tympanometry and microotoscopy with type of reconstructive clef palate operation.
