Description | Two new analytical procedures of simultaneous spectrophotometric analysis of ferrous and ferric ions utilizing their differencies in reactivity with respect to selective reagent (gallic acid) and/or reagent mixture (5-sulfosalicylic acid and 1,10-phenanthrolin). The measured experimental data are treated by Artificial Neural Network. Working concentration range is 0,5-4,0 mg.l-1 (Fe2+) a 1,0-4,0 mg.l-1 (Fe3+) for determination by gallic acid and 5,0-30,0 mg.l-1 (both ions) for determination by reagent mixture. It was demonstrated for the latter method that cations of transition metals (Co2+, Ni2+, Mn2+, Cu2+, Zn2+) are not interferents for determination and therefore it can be applied for iron speciation analysis in artificial samples of mineral waters originating from Czech Republic. The proposed analytical method gives precise (relative standard deviation lower than 2%) and accurate results. |
