Description | The paper analyses various aspects of convergence of agenda of ministeries of interior and defence (also that of the army and the police) in the context of the war on terrorism. The most important issues in this context are the rule of law enforcement in regions with a strong influence of terrorist structures, the crisis management after terrorist attacks using weapons of mass destruction, the fight against cyberterrorism and the counterterrrorism intelligence and special forces. The contemporary development shows that building the unified strong superministeries is not needed, but that a close cooperation and the existence of the government coordination bodies is important for efficient counterterrorism policy. |
