| Description | The present note argues that for proper treatment of anaphora syntactic theory must be augmented by some type of semantic interpretation of indices provided by syntactic theory. My approach is based mainly on these assumptions: all pronouns are from semantic point of view variables, the only difference between reflexive and nonreflexive form is presence of some accessible binder for reflexive ones; noncoindexation does not necessary mean noncoreference. The main questions in this note are of relation between syntactic and semantic binding. |
